Im Dae Jyun -조선민주주의인민공화국-
~*~
" ...A-Arrr, mat-- You know what, I refuse to speak like this. Can I plunder now?"
Name: Im Dae Jyun Nickname: The Tempest of Northeast Asia Origin: The Northern part of the Korean Peninsula Gender: MALE. Age: 20 Occupation: Pirate Former Occupation: Military officer Rank: Captain Ship: The Rising Sun (For you, Kiku dear ;D) Current Whereabouts: Northeast Asia. He respects other pirates' territories, and thus he stays in his. Orientation: Asexual... possibly. Birthday: September 9
Personality: He's not your normal, stereotypical, everyday pirate, at all. While mostly keeping to himself, North Korea, when not in action, is very quiet and almost unapproachable, to the point that even his crewmates are almost apprehensive to approach him except with the most important of matters. With those he is comfortable with, though (and they are not very many, mind you), he can get quite cheerful and can show his true character. Though, with everyone else, he has a façade of intimidation, which he isn't about to reveal.
Strong-willed, determined, and willing to go through any means to get what he wants, he makes the ideal pirate. He doesn't hesitate to kill or plunder anyone that gets in his way, all in the name of plundering! Although, he's not one to kill unnecessarily, so don't group him in with those pirates. He has a sense of chivalry, too, and this he makes sure he doesn't forget. And, like all those who is in his line of occupation, he doesn't trust anyone easily, at all. Better safe than sorry, right? He's very cautious, though not too cautious that he isn't willing to take a risk. In fact, he's more than willing to bet everything he has if he's absolutely sure he'll wield something better from it, and he always does.
Once he gets into action, though... he's unstoppable. He suddenly turns loud and commanding, and who could have ever thought this effeminate man could control a whole ship of renegades almost without any difficulty at all? Whenever they plunder a ship, he makes sure to keep casualties down to a minimum, since he's not one to hurt innocent merchants. And through all this, his badassery is revealed. A swearing machine, and manly beyond manly (or, as manly as he could get, since he has the unfortunate luck of having an effeminate face), he kicks down everything in his way, be it doors, or whatever.
One thing he won't do, though? Drink. He cannot handle alcohol. Actually, when he drinks, he's at his weakest... so give him all you've got! Make sure he doesn't find out the next day, though, or you're dead... so dead.
Appearance: Effeminate, and not exactly imposing, North Korea stands at 5'10". Yes, he is indeed tall, but he might as well be a supermodel: he's got the lean, curvy body of a woman! That shouldn't deter one from taking him seriously, though... as he can kick some ass. And to remedy his, aah, effeminate-ness, he wears manly clothes. Very manly clothes. And sometimes goes topless, too, just to prove he doesn't have boobs.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths:
- Using various sorts of weapons
- Plundering (that's his specialty, yo ;D)
- Being organized
- Coming up with effective strategies
- Close combat
- Accuracy
Weaknesses:
- Alcohol
- Directions
- Easily flustered
- Women (not so much mesmerized by them, but for some reason, he refuses to attack ships with women in them. One could say that to avoid his attacks would be to put a woman in the ship.)
- Long-range combat (he's better up close. ;D)
History: Before being a pirate, he was in the military. However, whether due to growing tired of the life in the barracks, or chasing pirate ships to no avail, or being sent on boring missions that he could finish quickly, or even the fact that he hadn't been promoted when he deserved to be, he quit the military. Besides, the military life proved to be too easy for him, and something that is too menial and useless, and he wanted something exciting. Due to this, he decided to be a pirate. It was mostly to test the skills he had acquired as a military man, and also to see if he wasn't going to get caught by the military either. He loved to be challenged, and challenged he was going to be.
As a pirate, he, of course, started at the very bottom, because he was still suspected of being a spy due to being fresh out of the military. However, because of his efficiency at doing his jobs, not to mention his efficiency at coming up with strategies that always work, he was quickly promoted, until he got to be the captain of a ship. That was the promotion he'd been wanting all along, and he found that this was the life for him.
Now, he cruises the waters of Northeast Asia, victmizing innocent ships who are about to pass into the Silk Road. He hasn't been caught yet, and he doesn't plan to be...
Relationships:
- China: He's heard much about this "merchant" from the pirate circles, so he makes sure to stay clear of his ship. Not that he's afraid of him, mind you, but he doesn't want to attack him, for some reason. He respects the man, and keeps it at that.
- More relationships to be added through roleplay
Weapons:
- Swords
- Knives
- Guns
- Pretty much anything he can get his hands on, really. He knows how to use a variety of weapons since he was once in the military.
Likes:
- Organization
- Perfection
- Fights
- Richly-laden merchant ships
- Plundering
- Kicking down doors
- Kimchi B|
- Things going his way
Dislikes:
- Military
- Disorganization
- Westerners
- Tardiness
- Alcohol
- Dirt
- Unnecessary casualties
- Disrespectful/trigger happy/ loud crewmates
Hobbies:
- Practicing his fighting moves
- Target practice
- Drinking tea (rather than alcohol, of course)
- Polishing his knives and/or guns (which makes him look intimidating
though not so much since he looks like a woman.)
- Musing out on the deck
- Cleaning
Random Quirks:
- REFUSES to speak like a pirate
- Probably about the only pirate with a sense of chivalry. Seriously.
- Is a gentleman towards ladies, and helpful to those in need.
- Very, very, very modest.
- Can't handle alcohol. (WTF)
- Has a bad sense of direction. (ANOTHER WTF, why is he even a pirate?)
- Has OCD- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
Though not as bad as Monk, what are you talking about?
